The friends’ Discord kept two roles that mattered whenever a new season was on the horizon: Active and Alive but not Active. The names say it neatly. One was for the people who were really playing, the other for the people who were still around, still in the server, but not currently logging in.
prop was the one who used them. When a season launched or an announcement needed to reach everyone who might care, he pinged both roles together, a roll call for the whole group. On 11 September 2025 the message was just the two role mentions and nothing else 1. That same day’s call opened the new season’s first session with a proposed UHC match; see The UHC Opener Pitch.
The roles also worked as a kind of membership badge. Back in April 2025, prop told someone he had “already gave u the ‘active’ role” 2, which suggests the role was a deliberate thing to be given.
By late September the pair was being used for Axolotl Create Season 3 updates. On 25 September prop pinged both roles with a link to the Season 3 Create modpack release and the words “Modpack updated” 3.
The pairing reads as a friendly one: “alive but not active” kept the quieter members on the list, so the ping still reached them if they wanted to come back.
