Season 1 of the Axolotl SMP was a vanilla-style server, but prop kept a small, strictly optional kit of client-side mods for anyone who wanted a few comforts.
Getting in
On TLauncher, the recipe was to pick the “fabric loader 1.17.1” profile and add Fabric API, Mod Menu and a voice chat mod. As prop put it: “and just doing fabric api mod menu and vc mod”. 1 2
The kit
By the 1.18 days the shared list had settled into Fabric API, OptiFabric with OptiFine, Mod Menu, Simple Voice Chat, Tweakeroo with MaLiLib (handy for freecam) and Xaero’s Minimap and World Map. 3 When Tweakeroo finally updated to 1.18, prop told the “bois” to check it out. 4
Earlier, in October 2021, the chat had been full of the OptiFine-on-Fabric trick, Tweakeroo, VoxelMap waypoints, BSL shaders and a Faithful 32x pack. The chat suggests prop’s advice was to drop Sodium if you ran OptiFabric. 5 6
The sleeper hit was the Shulker Box Tooltip mod. Prop used it to show 69 obsidian in a shulker without opening it. 7 8
No pressure
None of it was required. When a newcomer asked, prop’s answer was “u can come full vannilla also”, with voice chat and waypoints offered as extras. 9 10
