Double Ocean Monument

Roughly 4.5 to 5 thousand blocks from Veteran Base sat a pair of ocean monuments side by side, which prop saved as a waypoint on 21 October 2021. ¹ That night and the next, prop, Suresh and abi raided it with axolotls, beacons and invisibility potions (see Ocean Monument Raid). There was no sponge room, but elder guardians dropped three wet sponges, and prop talked about turning the place into a mega double base. ²

The exile

On 23 October abi got himself stranded at the monument (“i am stuck in ocean monumet”), and prop joined him for a self-imposed exile on the spot, which the lore readers record as having rules: no ender-chest gear, only the island’s own resources, with the goal of farming tridents. ³ The waypoint they saved there was called “gaurdian boi”. ⁴ The exile ended on 24 October once a trident finally dropped, and the haul went into farms back home.

Afterwards

The backup restore of 7 November (see Post-Grief Security) rolled the world back to before the raid, so the friends took to calling it “the future”: the monument found in a timeline that no longer existed. ⁵ prop wanted to build two guardian XP farms there anyway, but Suresh thought it was “too close” to base and went hunting on Chunkbase for another monument. ⁶
