Season 2 of the Necro SMP was decided by vote. Until the mods were settled, “Necro Origin SMP will stay online with the Origins mod” 1 (see Origins or Mekanism? The next-season debate), and on 22 May 2021 prop announced that Season 2, “Mekanism!”, had launched on the same IP, with the mod creator’s recommended texture packs. 2
“server works now,” prop reported, and a moment later: “bruh already got diamonds”. 3 4 He died with them, according to the chat history. Soon after, BotFragx posted a progress report: he and prop had built a base, a farm and a portal, got blaze rods, and stocked chests with iron and food. 5 (The base is described at Mekanism Spawn Base.) Prop’s plea to the host was that spawn protection be turned off: “for the love of god disable spawn protection”. 6
The fresh start did not last a day. On 23 May prop announced that because of “issues with world generation” the Season 2 world would be reset with a new random seed. 7 See The Mekanism Reset. A few days later the server was renamed in N3cro SMP becomes Potato SMP.
