In June 2024 the control panel that ran the group’s game servers, Pterodactyl, stopped loading. On 9 June prop noted that he was “fixing pterodactyl” 1, and it turned out the problem reached everything: “both the eden srp and asmp server consoles and everything else” 2.
The outage blocked the move to 1.21 and the mod updates waiting behind it on Axolotl SMP Season 3. The only person who could fix it was kira, who was away on a trip and then in exams. prop was left pinging kira throughout, and on 14 June was still waiting for the moment “once kira fixes ptero” 3. On 24 June a short, rueful “ah crap” suggests the wait was still not over 4.
It took until 30 June. Over voice chat, prop and kira finally got the panel working. Afterwards the server reportedly ran with unusually low RAM use.
In all the outage ran about three weeks.
