The Server Killer Machine

prop's Create drill rig crashed Season 2.5 every time its chunk loaded, locking him out of the server until he hunted it down.

On 4 March 2023 prop killed the server. A Create drill machine of his own making, a windmill-powered rope pulley holding mining drills, crashed Season 2.5 every time its chunk loaded. The chat first noticed it as a death message: “ProPlayerPlayz hit the ground too hard” 1. Then prop confirmed the scale: “single handedly killed server” and, to kira, “i killed axolotl bro” 2 3.

The trouble was that his account kept logging in right next to the machine and brought the server down again. Prop’s main character was stuck in the dug-out chunk, and the chat shows an alt (Saving_ASMP_2) joining right after one crash 4. He and kira, who read the logs, set out to locate the machine without loading it. With Tweakeroo and Distant Horizons “coming in clutch” 5 (see Tweakeroo and Freecam) he spotted it at the edge of render distance, then posted its coordinates: “106 65 325 <- ROPE PULLEY COORDS OF SERVER ENDER MACHINE” 6. He sketched the design too, with a windmill powering the machine and the drills hanging off the rope pulley 7.

A fix was proposed, and by 7 March prop had rebuilt the rig safely. According to the readers, one run of the repaired machine earned him 12 diamonds, enough to repay the pickaxes he had burned.
