On 2023-09-23 prop announced, “starting on item sorter room” 1. The project, on ASMP Earth, was a proper sorting hall, the Item Sorter / Storage Hall, built with Abishek (IRIS).
The rules were set early. The walking area was kept narrow, at about 12 or 13 blocks wide (the numbers shifted in chat), and each segment got “8 coloumns” 2. Every item was given “2 double chests” 3. With that, the structure was dug out and then wired.
The look of the room caused more argument than the redstone. Abishek began “designing” 4, and he and prop clashed over end rod lighting, the ceiling and terracotta patterns 5. He also had firm views and wanted the quartz bricks gone. He said the terracotta hallway made the place “feel like hospital” 6.
prop also took progress screenshots from one fixed angle, “to make a nice timeline of progress” 7. The result was a repeating, modern “Aztec”-style wall pattern. he came round to it: “I like this a lot better”.
