On New Year’s Day 2022, after griefers hit Axolotl SMP Season 1 yet again over New Year’s Eve, kira gave the server a panic button.
He typed .mayday into the bot channel, and when BotFragx asked what it was, he explained: “stop button for server, anybody can use”. 1 The purpose was plain: “incase of griefers”. 2 kira demonstrated it on the spot. A .status check showed the Minecraft service as dead, and kira confirmed “yup its stopped” before starting it up again.
The next day IRIS asked whether the unchanged server IP was what kept attracting griefers. kira did not think so: “nah because the griefers are jobless people”. 3 The server did get a permanent address two months later; see A Permanent Domain for Axolotl.
