The Resurrection Debate

After the server's progress was lost, prop and kira debated how and when to bring back the 7 October backup.

Event ASMP S1 28 Oct 2021

In October 2021 the server’s progress was lost, and on 28 October prop posted a “Proposal for a possible proper resurrection of the server” 1. The 7 October backup still existed, but bringing it back at random would not do.

His preferred answer was to restore it only when Minecraft 1.18 launched, so that the new terrain would bring motivation, with a mini SMP or a Last Life-style SMP in between. The alternatives were to restore the backup at once or to start a new concept SMP.

kira added a fourth option: “use ledger to fix the fking server and continue playing after a week” 2.
