The Trident Farm Floods the Server

On 2022-01-07 prop and IRIS finished the Trident Farm, a gigantic contraption built around flying machines and water. The finish was not a quiet one.

Before the final test, a friend in chat could already tell what was coming: “server gonna die now” ¹. The flying machines broke, and water poured out of the build. It spread across the area as a gigantic sheet. IRIS reported “server crashed” ². prop’s readouts were grim: “2 tps” and “200 mspt” ³. He put the cause down as “over a milion water getting created” ⁴.

The wall of water stayed behind and could be seen rendering from far away. For kira, who ran the server, it became a cleanup job: “I have about 700k water blocks still left to remove” ⁵.

prop’s verdict was short and defiant. They had crashed the server, “but we did complete the entire thing” ⁶. The farm worked, and prop and IRIS went on to harvest tridents for friends.
