On 1 July 2024, nYx agreed to join Axolotl SMP Season 3, and asked what version the server was on. prop told him it was running 1.20.6 and that an upgrade to 1.21 was coming, once he had collected the updated mods. 1 He even offered to do the upgrade together, in voice chat, which he reckoned would take about thirty minutes.
It happened that same day. The server bridge logged “Server Stopped!” 2 and a short while later “Server Started!”. 3 All the mods were already on their 1.21 versions.
nYx logged in as nYx_Taku and started breezing through the early advancements. Meanwhile the new version’s Trial Chambers were generating in the world; prop took the group’s first look the next day.
