In the early weeks of Axolotl SMP Season 2, prop, nYx and Saitama made a pact. In prop’s words, “u me and nyx made a pact of friendship” 1, and nYx remembered it too: “we had an alliance remember” 2. The terms were simple. There was no griefing or stealing among the three, and the stated goal was grander: “we want to assert complete dominance on the server” 3.
The alliance was partly practical. On 2022-06-27 prop suggested a shared flag for the “aliance thing” 4, so the three could mark outposts. He also invoked the pact in the arguments over who had settled where near nYx's island, the hub of the early settlement. The argument went like this: “me nyx and saitama have an alliance” 5. The same crowding row is told in Kart's Base Crowding Dispute.
The name came the same day. nYx offered it in passing, saying it was “a cool af name” 6: The Eye of the Midnight Sun.
By August the joke had turned into a religion. prop announced, “me nyx and saitama are like a cult” 7, and gave the cult its title 8. He also blamed it for his early fight with DeathHack127 7.
One later retelling of the founding, prop’s S2 history from November 2022, names the first three players as prop, nYx and Akshay (Saitama). The chat from June 2022 consistently calls the third member of the alliance Saitama.
