Anarchy Debate

Three days into Season 2, on 22 June 2022, Saitama looked at the server’s rules, or lack of them, and asked: “so shops are useless in this server ah?” followed by “I don’t see the point of this server being anarchy”. ^{1 2}

nYx gave the practical answer: “cuz no one has time to set rules now”. ³ prop gave the philosophy. It was not “2b2t anarchy where we can just bomb stuff if we feel like it”, he said, but “more like ‘make your own system’ instead of a server wide system”. ⁴ Trade still worked if done manually, and prop floated the Dream SMP and a lifesteal SMP as the kind of server this resembled. ⁵

The doctrine had an immediate application. When nYx reminded Saitama “we had an alliance remember”, the three of them were already a pact of friendship. ⁶ That group became the prop-nYx-Saitama Alliance. By 27 June they were discussing a name (nYx suggested “The eye of the midnight sun”), and prop stated the ambition plainly: “we want to assert complete dominance on the server”. ⁷
