The Copenheimer Grief

“Copenheimer” began as a joke. In September 2021, after a FitMC video spooked the server about 2b2t-style griefers, prop used the word as a nickname for that fear, and also to suggest that a stranger on the server might be impersonating him ¹. A month later the joke came true.

On 27 October 2021 outsiders (The 2b2t Griefers) logged in on friends’ accounts and wrecked the Veteran Base and the backups. Kart was struck by how much TNT they had on short notice ². prop’s own telling, in his history post “The Fall”, blames a chain of events. kira had opened carpet bots and ledger inspect to everyone, and prop discovered you could spawn bots with any name:

I spawned in technoblade and jeb as a joke and killed them like within 2 seconds. That was the biggest mistake of my axolotl smp life somehow ³

His theory was that this drew the exploiters in; the readers record it as theory, not proof. IRIS later said it was her account they came through the first time: “last time they came in my acc boom they destroyed veteran base” ⁴. At New Year they tried Kart’s account ⁵, see Griefers Return on New Year's Eve. By March the friends could laugh about it: nYx said “2nd apocalypse was averted”, and prop answered “we were prepared that time” ⁶.

What changed afterwards is in Post-Grief Security. prop’s later lore even sends the players back in time to “that 2b2t hack” so they can take a second chance ⁷.
