Earth Starter Kits

Every new arrival on ASMP Earth got the same welcome from prop: a starter kit. By the chat’s account it held cooked beef, an oak chest boat, torches, signs and wool for a bed. prop usually delivered it himself with a command, such as sixteen cooked beef and white wool for kira. ¹ Later he asked a newcomer “did u not get starter kit?”, and mentioned the three wool for a bed. ²

Players quickly learned to ask for it by name. nYx put it best: “gimme the fre stuff”. ³ The kit also fed the jokes. After a round of freebies kira declared “any farm you make in the future is mine, im calling dibs”, and then, of nYx, “nyx is my slave now”. ^{4 5}

The kit came with a tip: new players could use /trigger color to change their name colour, which also tinted any tamed pet. ⁶

In August 2023 a server update stopped the kit arriving automatically, so prop went back to handing it out by hand: “new update la u dont get la”. ⁷
