Every server after Season 1 lived in its shadow, and prop said so repeatedly.
In July 2024, comparing Season 3 to the first season, he reached for the “funeral for abishek” (Abi's Funeral) and for the big The Castle. That castle, he said, set the bar so high that the next thing had to be “so mindblowingly awesome”. 1 2 3
In March 2025 he put it plainly: “we could never live upto the lockdown peak of axolotl server”. Season 1 had the nether hub, almost every farm, lore, “wars” and even hackers. He lamented that no good recent backup of that world existed. 4 5 6 nYx teased him for an “Average prop paragraph guy moment”. 7
The belief outlasted the server. In 2026 prop told a younger player that he “didnt even experience the peak quarantine axolotl smp”, and, in his words, you “cannot beat axolotl”. 8 9
Then the backup turned up. When The Return brought the world back, prop explained the pattern: “we were always trying to recreate the magic of this world”, “which is why we never continued”. The original world, he said, was “what everyone wanted all along”, and “we never had proper closure with this world”. 10 11 12 13
