Season 3 Client Mods

Axolotl SMP Season 3 opened as plain vanilla (1.20.6 at the start), with one house rule from prop: bring whatever mods you like “as long as its not too cheaty ofc”. ^{1 2} Litematica for planning farms got the nod, and Ping Wheel and Xaero’s map were accepted. ³

The result was a server that looked vanilla and a client that did not. Prop kept a shared Fabric instance as a zip on Google Drive and re-posted it whenever someone joined or returned. ⁴ By 2024-10-02 the shared set was Fabric API, Iris, Lithium, Ping Wheel, Sodium, Sound Physics Remastered and Xaero’s, and by the 1.21 instance in October it also leaned on Distant Horizons and the Complementary shaders. ^{5 6}

Two mods have their own legends:

• Distant Horizons, which prop’s admin account crowned “the best minecraft mod ever made” while showing off the Axolotl world. ⁷
• Do a Barrel Roll, the elytra-spin mod prop added on 2024-07-07 (and admitted to keeping disabled during end busting). ^{8 9}

kira went furthest, loading Complementary shaders, Distant Horizons and Controlify, and declared “i modded the fuck out of the game”, adding that it “feels like minecraft 2”. ^{10 11}
