The bamboo farm was meant to end an era of misery: with enough bamboo for fuel, nobody would have to AFK at the wither skeleton farm for coal again. prop planned it as “omega 8000+ per hour” fuel for the Super Smelter, and on 2 October 2021 he told Suresh “bamboo farm done”. 1 2 Later he put the figure at 8,500 or more an hour. 3 It stood beside abi’s house, directly above five stacks of rails, which made it close to impossible to move. 4
Nothing but trouble
The farm’s flying-machine harvester never behaved. The observer fired too fast, hoppers overflowed, and when kira activated it his FPS dropped to 20. On the day it was finished, Kart “literally fucking” blew it up. 5 Then prop logged back in to find the flying machine broken by a creeper explosion with a “shitty attempt to fix it”, which set off his elytra chase after Kart (see The Kart and Veteran Base Feud). 6 7 By 4 October prop already suspected it was broken for good, and on 6 October he removed the automatic part. 8
The teardown
On 13 October prop announced he would dismantle the farm and the smelter. 9 Suresh objected, as he used the bamboo for trading, while IRIS was reportedly jumping at the chance to bring back the “epic view” from his base, which the farm had blocked. 10 The full story is told in The Bamboo Farm and Super Smelter Teardown.
