By October 2022 Axolotl SMP Season 2 had run out of players. On 2022-10-19 prop lamented that his “motive”, DeathHack, had left. kira had the grim diagnosis ready: “oh wait I forgot, the server is dead” 1. A couple of weeks later he repeated it more bluntly, “bro nobody is even playing on the server” 2, while prop went looking for video ideas to fill the silence.
On 2022-12-10 kira floated the logical conclusion, and mentioned that the server cost 40 rupees a month:
If nobody gonna play on the server, should I kill it? 3
In between, on 2022-11-17, there had been a sign of hope. kira announced that Hisoka “is here to revive the server” 4. prop’s welcome was to point the newcomer to the S1 history, S2 history and S2 events channels, so that he could see “how fucked up our server is” 5. On 12-14 prop turned to Levi with a one-word message, “brother” 6. The chat suggests it was a plea to Levi to get the server back up.
