On 25 November 2021 kira announced, “I have decided to build a behemoth of a copper farm.” 1 A day later he could report “poggers copper farm works”, and soon after “a full stack of oxidised copper blocks lets go”. 2 3 The farm is described on the Copper Farm page.
Then came the market. kira asked whether anyone would buy copper if he opened a shop, and set the opening price himself: six oxidised blocks for one diamond. He admitted it came from about two hours of AFK yielding roughly a stack, and that it would stand “until somebody else competes or my afk time increases”. 4 5 IRIS said a “shit ton” of copper was needed for a mall build, and prop was eyeing oxidised copper for his own mega base. 6
Two days later prop came back with homework. He had checked Hermitcraft, where the cheapest oxidised copper was 1.36 diamonds per 16 blocks. 7 kira’s reply was “ok so?”, followed by a promise to drop to one diamond for eight blocks, with gold at sixteen blocks a diamond. 8 IRIS pointed out that it was not yet eight for one, and that kira had accused her that very day of overpricing elytra at 20 diamonds while doing “the exact same thing from day 1”. 9 Prop’s reaction was “aight lets not start this again”. 10
It was the Season 1 diamond economy in miniature: one shop, one price war, and a Hermitcraft price list used as ammunition.
