Hyphae

Hyphae was not one of the friends’ own worlds, but it hovers over the early days of Axolotl SMP Season 1 like a rival neighbour. It was a community-run, survival-only server that prop, kira, Fili and Levi had all played on. ¹

prop rated it highly, calling it “the closest thing to hermitcraft that i ever played”. ² The chat records that Fili’s group had taken over a good part of its economy, and that Fili was eventually perm-banned there for giving out diamonds; prop’s “like fili did” refers to it. ³

It also competed for attention. In August 2021, when its second season began, kira was asking prop whether he was playing it instead. ⁴ kira himself skipped it a month later because he did not like some of its rules. ⁵

Fili’s lasting contribution to the legend is a number. When kira’s farms were running and the Axolotl server groaned, he reminded everyone of Hyphae at “6 tps”, the lowest ever reached. ⁶
