prop’s Technoblade statue was built for a spectacle. In early August 2022 the huge scaffolded figure was being hidden “so statue is more concealed for the video” 1, and he rigged sand blocks to fall into a hole full of buttons, so the cover would vanish at the unveiling 2. The reveal was postponed once, from 6 August 3.
The memorial opened on 9 August next to prop’s base near spawn, with a sandbox for the audience, fireworks, and noteblock songs from nYx. The statue’s surroundings included a decorated nether portal at -15 ~ 10 4. The chat called it “techno memorial opening” 5. The event became known as the “technoblade statue reveal event which became a war declaration” 6. The memorial kept collecting stories. _eb left shulker boxes there that prop later stored away because of the war 7. On 11 December a creeper was found to have holed the statue. “i never lit up the inside of the statue,” prop admitted, so mobs had been spawning inside 8. He promised to fix it.
