prop's giant TNT-assisted project to clear a 16x16-chunk square of desert for farms and an omega base. It kept breaking and had to be rebuilt.

The Perimeter was prop’s plan to clear a 16 by 16 chunk square flat, so that no mob could ever spawn inside and his mass farms 1 and an “omega mob farm” 2 could go in. “The purpose of a perimter is to elimnate all possible spawning spaces,” he explained 3. His October to-do list already called it “45% done” 4.

The site was marked in the desert. prop shared the corner coordinates on 2021-11-09 5 6, and IRIS had the square moved left by 13 chunks to dodge the mountains 7.

A flying TNT machine did the clearing, followed by sand to smother the lava lakes underneath, which were enormous. The project was inaugurated with an unlisted video on 2021-11-10 8. A squad took over: prop, IRIS, Suresh and Kart each got a quadrant 9, and Kart reported that “it took us 2 days” to do just 2% 10. The result was a vast trench, with lava still burning in the floor.

prop called 16 by 16 chunks “the smallest possible hole to be considered a perimeter” 11, and two loader bots (perimeterloader1 and 2) kept the machine’s chunks loaded 12. On 11-16 prop set himself a target of “50% of perimter explosions” for the next day 13.

The machine broke often. On 11-12 IRIS reported that the TNT machine had broken, and prop fixed it 14 15. On 11-30 prop got it running again (“PERIMETER MACHINE IS ON”) 16, only for it to break once more, and his verdict was “perimeter machine got completly fucked” 17. By December Kart was listing it as “discontinued i think” 18. Its cleared desert survived, however. On 2022-03-12 IRIS pointed it out on the new Dynmap and marvelled at “the symetry” 19 20.
