Season 2 Declared Full Anarchy

In June 2022 prop announced Season 2 with no shopping district, economy or council, where stealing and killing were legal.

On 2022-06-12, with Minecraft 1.19 out and everyone short on free time (college, mostly), prop posted the “Axolotl Season 2 News”. The plan: no shopping district, no economy and no council. Axolotl SMP Season 2 would be complete anarchy, with stealing and killing legal and players free to found countries and start wars. 1

A long draft rule list followed, then got crossed out almost entirely, leaving “No Abusing Glitches” and “DONT DO SHADY SHIT”, plus a warning that Kart would be banned if he went back to duping. 2

GrimWatch mocked the whole idea of rules on an anarchy server, which set off a spat in which prop and kira said opinions counted only from people who would actually play. 3 Prop admitted he might have “worded it poorly”: what kira had told him in voice chat was to go for “roleplay anarchy”, not 2b2t. 4 They pointed out that Axolotl SMP Season 1 had also begun with no rules and only later grew a shopping district. Kira would pregenerate the first 1000x1000 chunks, “coz initially there will be heavy activity there”. 5

Prop’s final word the next day: “just dont do shady shit”, start the way they did for Season 1, “no plans just go for it”. 6 On 2022-06-15, after a seed hunt, he proposed a flat island spawn, since Season 1’s spawn had been split across four biomes. 7
