In mid-October 2021 prop found a new employee. Steve was a fake-player bot who could stand AFK and right-click lava buckets in the dripstone lava farm (Dripstone Farm), no sleep or snacks required. prop asked kira whether it was allowed, and kira’s ruling was brief: “sure bro” 1 2. Steve unlocked advancements, a second bot named Alex was summoned and promptly killed, and the whole super-smelter-and-lava operation was jokingly christened Steve Company (Steve Company, Steve the Bot). kira, for his part, said that opening the trick to every player would need a permissions mod.
Two days later the employee went rogue. When its chests filled up, Steve kept going and dropped lava onto a hopper outside abi’s lava farm (Abi's lava farm), ruining it. On 19 October abi asked kira to “kick steve pls” and reported that “he killed my lava farm” 3 4. kira settled it with a console command, !console player Steve kill 5.
The next day abi tallied the damage: “i think steve placed atleast 100 buckets of lava on the hopper” 6. Steve’s lesson about unattended automation was filed, and promptly ignored, under farm philosophy.
