Season 1 of the server split into factions early. On 12 July 2021, kira told Grim he was “thinking of having veterans club” 1, so that newcomers wouldn’t taint the starter bases. He chose a plains biome with a spruce backdrop and, with the idea settled, followed up with a delighted “yeahh!” 2.
The founders were kira, prop and Grimwatch, who gathered about 300 blocks from spawn and named themselves the Veterans, since they had played together on an earlier server 3. That settlement became Veteran Base. Entry was strict: kira told Kart, “you are not allowed inside veteran club I am sorry” 4, and Suresh was turned away too. In the end only kira, Grimwatch, prop and later Outtadaworld counted as veterans.
Prop later recorded the moment as “The Birth of the Clans” 5. The other clans were DeathHack and Omen, who started the Monke Clan in a jungle base (Monke Base) 6, and Kart, who “decided to go solo” in an underground room at the edge of a badlands biome 7.
