Grim is a founding Veteran of Axolotl SMP Season 1 who put in a couple of days of serious progress and has been heckling ever since. 1 2 Everyone else remembers the same sequence, put best by kira: “you joined the server, got good gear, built a house and called it a day”. 3
The Veteran days
Grim already had a history with the group. He hosted the older Asphyxi server, a Raspberry Pi box that stayed up because he was “just too lazy to turn off the raspi” 4 5 When Season 1 got going he was the third member of the Veteran club, with kira and prop. 6 kira later said it all started with convincing him and prop to settle at the Veteran Base. 7
His first base was a cave around -131, 40, -291. 8 He blew up and died a lot early on, but found diamonds after the long drought. 9 He then dug a nether tunnel for ancient debris (“netherite farm time”) 10 and was killed by a bed explosion, the game’s “Intentional Game Design”. 11 See Grimwatch's Nether Mine. He put netherite on his helmet and chestplate, which kira called “the two most useless pieces of gear”. 12 Once, he saved prop from wither skeletons by logging in to unload the chunk, for 2 diamonds. 13
His house was a modern build high on a mountainside, and the friends dubbed him “mc grandpa”. 14 By the end it was “half modernhouse near the veteran main land”. 2 See Grimwatch's House.
Bots and Discord admin
Grim’s most lasting contribution is code. kira admitted he “ripped off grim’s bot because I was too lazy” and added commands on top. 15 That became the base of kira’s Axolotl bot (see StonerBob / the Axolotl Bot). He also ran the Discord’s side: the Activities and NQN bots arrived at his and prop’s request, 16 and he removed :tomatosmug: to make room for another emoji. 17 When he pushed for the Tatsu bot, prop snapped, “you dont even play minecraft or anything here”. 18
The Watcher
Levi said Grim pops in and out of conversations “like the watcher from marvel”. 19 He wore a troll skin at the funeral and called the silence “peak cringe”. 20 Before Axolotl SMP Season 2 he wanted zero rules and predicted anarchy motivation would last three days. 21 22
He asked to be whitelisted and promised to “burn it”, which worried prop. 23 24 The chat suggests he mostly stayed on Discord. prop later observed: “everyone goes through that ‘hating grim with full essence of their soul’ phase”. 25 See The "Hating Grim" Phase.
Still watching
Through later seasons he lurked on the bridge, gave one-liners, and urged people to “install rabbit and steel”, which prop told newcomers to ignore. 26 In 2026 he was playing Helldivers 2 with prop. 27 When The Return: Season 1 Restored began, he called Hayan a “noob” over his deaths and added, “i wont be joining tho”. 28 29
